Madden 24: All New Franchise Mode Features Explained

Madden NFL 24 will be released on August 18, 2023, for the PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One/Series X|S, and PC. If you are still unaware of the new features coming to Madden 24’s Franchise mode, it’s best to take note because each one is explained in detail. After all, Franchise has been Madden’s most popular game mode for years.

Madden 24: Training Camp

Franchise players have been asking for the training camp feature for quite some time. Madden finally answered the fan’s prayers by returning the training camp for Madden 24. The training camp feature will bring plenty of new mini-games that can help players will have the chance to enhance their roster at the start of each season. Training Camp will include the following mini-games upon release:

Target Passing (Quarterbacks)
Pass Skeleton – Outmanned (Quarterbacks)
Rushing Attack (Halfbacks and Fullbacks)
WR Battle (Wide Receivers and Tight Ends)
WR Battle – Red Zone Attack (Wide Receivers and Tight Ends)
Trench Battle – The Long Hall (Defensive Line and Linebackers)
Chase and Tackle (Linebackers)
DB Battle (Defensive Backs)
DB Battle – Red Zone Defense (Defensive Backs)
Field Goal Accuracy (Kickers)
Coffin Corner (Punters)

Players will also earn rewards by playing mini-games, such as XP, skill points, and other items.

Madden 24: Weekly Strategy

In Madden 24 Franchise mode, developers have included the Weekly Strategy feature. This allows players to choose their offensive and defensive game plans each week, as well as select “focus players” for the upcoming match. Each focus player will have the opportunity to play one mini-game with the same purpose as Training Camp. This feature could be a positive move in making the Franchise mode much closer to the real-life experience.

Madden 24: Trade System

The Madden 24 Franchise trade system will be updated. Traditionally, Madden limited players to trading only three assets, which didn’t reflect the reality of teams making multiple trades during the draft season or before the deadline. Thankfully, this limitation has been lifted, allowing players to trade up to six assets, including three players, in a single trade. Additionally, the game now offers three years of draft picks instead of the usual two, allowing for more realistic deals within the Franchise.

Madden 24: New Draft Class Settings

In the League Settings menu, players will be able to change the configuration of the Draft Classes. Now they can customize them to be Very Weak, Weak, Normal, Strong, or Very Strong. Each of these configurations will result in varying levels of prospects in the next Draft Classes. For example, if you set the prospect generation to Very Strong, there will be a higher number of top-tier prospects and a ten times greater chance of seeing a generational class than in Normal settings.

Madden 24: Draft Generators

Last year, Madden 23 added over 30 new generators to “break the mold” and offer fresh and fun new opportunities when scouting and drafting. In Madden NFL 24, the developers are added over 50 new generators to the mix to continue last year’s initiative and provide more fun, dynamic and memorable draft experiences. With this, the developers hope that in Madden 24, the new prospects will have better statistics, join the 99Club, and fill some of the positions that were left isolated in Madden 23, such as Fullback, Tight End, and more.

Madden 24: Salary Cap Management

Managing the Salary Cap has always been critical to building a championship roster. This year Madden 24 brings two more pieces into the fold: Contract Restructuring and the 5th Year Option.

Contract Restructuring: This allows a team to reduce a player’s current year salary, distributing that money as a bonus to the remaining years, including the current of their contract.
5th Year Option: Teams can extend a rookie’s contract by one year with the 5th Year Option. However, the team can only accept or decline this option after the player has completed three seasons in the league.

Keep your young talent within the organization longer and open more opportunities for growth by leveraging these unique NFL contract dynamics.

Madden 24: Relocation Overhaul

This is another significant improvement that comes in the form of a revamped relocation system. In previous Madden editions, the relocation options were limited to copy-and-paste cities, team names, and branding, which lacked creativity and customization. However, Madden 24 introduces a streamlined team relocation feature, offering new cities, logos, and uniforms, allowing players to create their own unique franchise stories. While the ability to design custom uniforms and badges may not be available, this overhaul is a step in the right direction.

Unfortunately, not all players will be able to enjoy these new features. The enhancements, including cross-play, gameplay updates, and returning mini-games and Superstar modes, are exclusively available to players on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Those still using PS4 and Xbox One will not have access to any of the exciting new additions in Madden 24. It’s a tough break for loyal Madden players on older generation consoles, but it may be time to consider upgrading to the next generation for the enhanced experience.

With these new Franchise Mode features, game fans now have even more reasons to anticipate the release and dive into the immersive world of Madden NFL 24.
